How I Stay Organized

I consider myself a mental organizer. I organize things in my brain but not out in front of me. The problem with mental organization, is when I have something I have been thinking about for a long time, the other ideas shift to the back of head, which often leads to the dark expanse of “Hmmmm, I can’t remember”. So, here are some ways I am working on organizing my thoughts out in the open.
NOTES- It’s 2017, everyone is on their phone. I know you are. It’s an addiction. So, for convenience, use your notes app and literally… TAKE NOTES. All your ideas will be safely stored in your ICloud
Old Fashion Notebook- Instead of doing homework in my math notebook I wrote out ideas that came to my head. Ideas come and go, they change, and some you question why you even came up with it. All that matters is, you WRITE THEM DOWN. Keep all your ideas, dreams, and goals in one central location. I keep my notebook by my bed. My sleepless nights usually come forth when I’m thinking about my future or having a mental mock interview with a celebrity.
Laptop- I write posts for my blog on my laptop. I do not always post them, but I have pieces stored on here. My luck with technology seems to always end in everything being lost, so I have learned to make sure I move ev
erything to a flash drive AND Google Drive.
Screenshot- YEP! I keep receipts. Being able to screen shot is a life saver. I screenshot internship opportunities, future contacts, company names, etc. In other words, if I am on my phone, I am likely to see something that revolves around reporting.
Clearly, the biggest thing here is that all ideas, dreams, and goals need to somehow be documented. Storing them in your memory bank does not serve you well. If you already knew this, then here’s even more confirmation. Okay, go take your notes!
