Motivate Yo Self

If there is one thing I have come to terms with along this road of growing up and "figuring out what to do with your life", is that being self-motivated is the biggest necessity. No one is going to support you more than yourself. There will be people that are willing to help, but only to a certain extent, especially if it takes something away from them (hate to say it, but it’s true.) It is up to you to decide how much effort you put into your work, and how persistent you are.
I find that continually researching and reading up on people living my dream helps to keep me motivated. Reading other people’s back stories helps allow me to visually see different pathways people take to attain their goal. Regardless of the path and its obstacles, it is key to always remain self-motivated. When you motivate yourself, no one can stop you from your grind.
Another thing I do is change the way on which I word my future. By this I mean, instead of saying “I hope to be an Entertainment reporter”, I say “I will one day be an Entertainment Reporter”. This way it is engraved in my head that I am Stevie Dupree-Parker and I WILL follow my dream. It is easy to set our dreams so far away that we do not realize we should start now. Before you can work on your future you must work on your now. Right now I am in college, but I am building my brand. Understanding that I am forever evolving as a person, my brand will evolve with me.
Have faith, trust yourself, and stick to who you are. There is no formula to staying motivated, but keeping your goal in mind at all times helps to keep function flowing.
